The Law - Simply reading the six page North Dakota home education law will answer most questions and provide home educators with the maximum freedom. If it is not required by law, you are not required by law to do it.

The ND home education law is one of the most restrictive home education laws in the nation and considered by many Christian leaders to be both unconstitutional and unbiblical. Therefore as Christian people, good citizens and wise statesmen, we all need to work with and support the NDHSA legislative efforts to remove these laws, perhaps looking to Alaska as a modern model.

The assumption that the state is responsible for and good at education is seriously flawed (Proverbs 1:7). Laws that place the state in authority over the family in matters of education undermine the authority of God, the family and the church, which has resulted in the minimization of the Christian ethic in western civilization. These laws also protect an education monopoly, deter people from home educating (Deuteronomy 6:7, Jeremiah 10:2) with its Christian transforming effects, increase home education costs, make criminals of righteous people, and promote cultural chaos.
