New! NDHSA Membership

Dear Home School Families and Friends,

 

The NDHSA Board of Directors has decided to increase the activity and influence of the NDHSA by instituting fee-based memberships beginning in June of 2006. Research into the value of memberships has revealed that: (1) there is no longer any legal rationale to not have membership, (2) membership creates a more focused, cohesive and dynamic organization, (3) 70% of NDHSA families support the idea of membership, (4) many state and local homeschool organizations have membership, (5) membership will allow the NDHSA to increase its educational services, legislative engagement and general outreach activities to effectively meet the cultural challenges anticipated, and (6) provide a more stable financial basis for NDHSA operations.

Member Benefits

Member benefits include the newsletter and e-newsletter; 10% annual convention registration discount; 10% discount on information packets; HSLDA group discount; 25% advertising discount to home school family businesses for newsletter, e-newsletter, and website ads; helping continue the general services and outreach activities of the NDHSA toward growing home education in North Dakota.

Families not choosing membership may still choose to be on the NDHSA mailing list and receive the legislative action alerts at no cost.

Instructions

The membership period extends from August 1 st to July 31 st with the annual fee of $35 due by July 15th in order for members to receive the August back to school newsletter. Families or individuals may join at any time for the same fee of $35, but folks joining after July 15th would not receive newsletters published prior to their joining.

Before completing the form below, please read the NDHSA Statements of Faith and Purpose. Note that only NDHSA Board members and staff are required to endorse these statements. Other members are simply encouraged to be aware of these statements, but are not required to endorse them. Membership in the NDHSA is at the discretion and approval of the NDHSA leadership.

NDHSA Statement of Faith: Trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior, I believe in the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and the basis of faith and practice; the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son; the death of the Jesus Christ for our sins; His bodily resurrection and His personal return; of regeneration and the spiritual life.

NDHSA Statement of Purpose: 1. Encouraging and assisting Christian families in the education of their children according to Biblical principles. 2. Providing to home educators and the general public information pertaining to the Biblical, academic and legal aspects of home education. 3. Entering into activities, in filling out contracts necessary, incidental or beneficial to the accomplishment of the nonprofit purposes of this corporation.
