2007 Convention Refund Policy Note

On March 19th, 2007 the NDHSA Board voted to not refund convention payments to attendees or vendors who had prepaid and did not arrive at the Fargo Civic Center. This conclusion resulted from a study of other convention policies and a review of the 2007 NDHSA convention expenses.

The NDHSA Board expresses its heartfelt sympathies to those who prepaid but were prevented from arriving due to the weather or other reasons. The Board found that the convention expenses did not decrease as a result of fewer people and vendors in attendance, but in fact created a greater financial burden because convention profits are needed to sustain NDHSA activities throughout the year. They also learned that a no refund policy is common practice for conventions because of the large fixed expenses involved.

As a token of the Board's sincerity and their appreciation of your plans to attend the 2007 convention, each prepaid family who was not able to attend will be provided one free convention keynote CD by Israel Wayne titled, "The Real Truth about Socialization," along with a donation receipt for the amount prepaid for tax deduction purposes.

We hope and pray that the weather will not be problematic for travel to the March 2008 Home Educators' Convention at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks and hope to see you there!
