NDHSA Exposing a Trojan Horse - Some of the Meeting Discussion Points
Focus of Meeting: Show & discuss Exposing the Trojan Horse and how government assistance for materials and programs is enticing home educators and is undermining parents rights and state legislative efforts in North Dakota.
The primary battle of the past remains:
1. It all boils down to the fundamental right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their own children. That the parent, not the government is responsible for the child.
2. The education establishment sees home schooling as an economic and philosophical threat. They want control of the minds of the children to form society through things like testing based on their curriculum and not yours.
3. Home schoolers are being drawn back into the public school system through online courses and extracurricular activities.
4. Home schoolers are slipping into complacency through a false sense of security, since the persecution has subsided.
5. Now many are choosing home education as an educational option instead of choosing home education based on Biblical truth and conviction and haven't considered the importance of liberty.
6. The legislative battles for home education liberty is part of a bigger spiritual war and therefore, prayer and fasting are key parts of our legislative efforts against the encroachment of humanism, Marxism and other non-Christian ideas. Jesus Christ is the Truth and secular humanism, which dominates thinking today is opposed to the Truth.
7. The premise of socialism, based on secular humanism, is that safety and prosperity can only be assured through a central agency. That was not the foundation upon which our country was set.
8. Private, independent, Christian home education is a terrible obstacle for the advancement of secular humanism. An obstacle that is targeted for removal.
9. Your role is not neutral. By the very virtue of what you do or don't do, what you say and don't say, you are making a statement towards Christian and constitutional liberty or towards humanism.
10. Some legislators and the DPI leaders think that home schoolers want accountability from the state, because many chose to use the public school services.
11. Every time we use the government, it grows.
12. Parents choosing to access public school services may satisfy a short term desire, but set the stage for their grandchildren to loose freedom.
13. Supporting state funded education takes support way from a Biblical approach to education.
14. The 2011 ND home school bill has been written and sponsored.
15. National issues.
16. Action needed.
